Theme from ChaletOS 14.04 on 16.04.

Hi guys!

Im creating this topic just for talk about one theme.

In the ChaletOS 14.04 I was using he as default theme. But now, in ChaletOS 16.04, I cant apply this.

Where are the real beautiful themes from ChaletOS 14.04 LTS?

Looking at it again, this looks more to do with the inbuilt ¨Style Changer¨. In the latest version it does not look like there is an option to customize, simply change from a set amount of options.
I assume that you would have to replace the current ¨Style Changer¨ version for the previous version somehow, unsure if that is possible though.

I think it's not frits...that's why i'm sticking with 14.04, still supported for a few more years.

I am not able to install and activate the theme "Square".
Really I want to activate it, as it was in the good old ChaletOS 14.04.

Why remove that theme from Style Changer? It was so simple! Just click and activate. Now we have to be unfolding time to do it.
Please! Post the old version of Style Changer for new ChaletOS 16.04 LTS.

Who can help me?
I would like to install these themes here in my ChaletOS 16.04, but I'm not getting. I've moved several tutorials on the internet that teaches you how to install and enable, but didn't work in ChaletOS.

Anyone out there know what to do?

I can't understand why they took this incredible theme ChaletOS 16.04. Being that it was one of the most beautiful of 14.04 system version.

so you tried the terminal commands? you would want to use the ones on the botttom "To install Square icons in any Debian/Ubuntu/Linux Mint version open Terminal (Press Ctrl+Alt+T) and copy the following commands in the Terminal:". The one above it is for Ubuntu only.

If you haven't done it from terminal like that than try it that way.

If you have tried it in terminal and it has not worked, I'll tell you to do what I tell everyone else that has 'terminal illnesses' to do (lol): that is paste the terminal output of every command they used to install it. That will be a very great diagnostic tool for us. Sometimes there is a hidden error in the middle of the output but at the end it looks normal.

Also sometimes a restart helps to apply the themes Wink

(just be sure to save terminal output before you restart Very Happy

)

UPD8: I just tried to install a theme like that and the icons dont appear right away. But if you go onto settings/appearance and click on the 'icons' tab you will find any icon themes you installed as well as others that came with your installation.

Please could you post in response to this quote, command lines that you use to install on your ChaletOS?
Because I've tried several, says he is installing, but do not appear in the window that you specified in the print above.

I'd really like to install that ChaletOS 14.04 theme. The kept installed here in dual box because the 16.04 ChaletOS does not have this issue.

And another question. Would it be possible to install the old version of "Style Changer" on 16.04 ChaletOS?

persionally I'd follow these steps:

in terminal:

Code:: sudo bash

[enter sudo password]

Code:: add-apt-repository "deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/noobslab/icons2/ubuntu precise main"

(quotation marks should be included!)

Code:: apt-get update apt-get install square-icons

(You dont need to use sudo after running 'sudo bash')
Then to exit out of bash back on to regular terminal

Code:: exit

or use 'exit' twice to exit terminal completely.

Then go to settings and click on 'appearance'. Click on the icon tabs as shown in screenshot. the 'square icons' should be somewhere there.

I finally found the correct name of the theme. And it's not "Square" as it was written in ChaletOS 14.04.

The correct name is: CobiBird.
However, I can't install it. Anyone out there know of any other repository? Because when you type:

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:noobslab/themes
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install cobibird

The Terminal says:
E: impossible to find the cobibird package

I really want this theme. =/

The error seems to be in updating repository. I can't read the Portuguese but I ran some things through google tranlate and that seems to be the problem. One cause of such an error is if you are connected to a proxy that uses ssl filtering but you have not installed the SSL certificate. To check if that is the error use this command:

Code:: curl https://www.bing.com/

If you see some certificate errors there's your problem. If you see all kinds of dots and dashes and commas and slashes (lol) then that's not your problem. If it says 'curl is not installed' then run this and retry:

Code:: sudo apt-get install curl

The only other cause I've thought of so far is a discontinued PPA. How old is the tutorial you used? Maybe they got a new PPA or discontinued the whole thing.
