Chalet OS won't install on Advent 7301 laptop

I would like to install the Chalet OS on my Advent 7301 laptop. I downloaded the x86 version and made a boot CD. The Cd is fine because it boots on another laptop, but on the Advent it boots and then gets to a black screen with a blinking cursor but never gets any further. The specs of the laptop are:

CPU Intel Celeron M 440 (1.86 GHz)
BIOS Phoenix BIOS. Press F2 to enter
Chipset Mobile Intel 943GML Express
Memory 1GB DDR2 533MHz PC2-4200 SODIMM (2 memory slots. Max 2GB)
Hard Drive 40GB
CD Drive Optiarc DVD RW AD-7530A
Screen 15.4" Widescreen TFT (1280x800)
Video Card ATI Radeon Xpress 200M (256MB shared)
Sound Card Realtek High Definition Audio
Modem Not Fitted **
Network Card Realtek RTL8139/810x
RaLink RT2561/RT2661 802.11a/b/g Wireless LAN *

Don't know if this is a Bios issue, have checked the Bios. It doesn't really give me the option to change much, so it could be outdated. I can also only boot from CD/DVD or USB CD/DVD (but not USB memory stick).
