[Solved] No Broadcom wireless connection on Acer Aspire 9410Z laptop
Recently installed ChaletOS 16.04.2 (32-Bit) onto an Acer Aspire 9410Z laptop. On which the Broadcom (BCM4311) wireless controller was not working. But managed to find the following solution which may work on multiple other Broadcom based wireless hardware.
If you want to find out which wireless controller your system has run the following terminal command:
To install the Broadcom firmware and module support run the following terminal commands:
After this simply reboot the system.
If you want to find out which wireless controller your system has run the following terminal command:
- Code:
lspci -nn | grep 0280
To install the Broadcom firmware and module support run the following terminal commands:
- Code:
sudo apt-get remove bcmwl-kernel-source
sudo apt-get install firmware-b43-installer
sudo apt install b43-fwcutter
After this simply reboot the system.

funny that one of my laptops is that exact model of acer! pretty good except for the keyboards.
