Bluetooth speakers

I am trying to get my bluetooth speakers to work. So i turn them on and they appear on my bluetooth settings and I set them up and it says its succesful but sound still comes out of my *****HORRIBLE***** laptop speakers. (vol |=============>|100% and I cant hear much). It worked on my previous zorin OS ok. I tried the sound configuration but that did not help. Any ideas?

I don't have bluetooth speakers to test, but did you check the output is set to your bluetooth speakers in the sound settings?

Then I guess that the bluetooth doesn't really have a connection. I remember a long time ago when I tried using a bluetooth headset that I had to jump through quite a few hoops to get it working, but a lot has changed since then although I would have expected it to have gotten easier to use...

yeah but the device shows up on the bluetooth thing and it says it's connected!

Is it connected as speakers or as some other device, I recall sometimes devices will connect as a different device type and will not allow proper use
