No, yaourt is made for arch linux to install arch linux packages. There are 2 very popular alternatives for linux: one is software-center (software-centre in UK) which is Ubuntu's program. The other is synaptic, a little bit old but has better availability and is super for installing non-GUI plugins, dependencies, etc and is quite a bit faster than software-center.
