Fix for Windoze 8.1
Hi,
I've been around computers & computing since Commodore 64 days, done some programming years ago and still use my computers daily for one thing or the other. (Usually the other..)
A few years ago I bought a Sony Vaio Flip, top of the line laptop but it came loaded with Windoze 8. v10 would not load regardless of what I tried, Sony was no help, and drivers for Win 7 were non-existent. So, when v8.1 started throwing blue screens the Viao was looking more and more like an over weight frisbee.
As a last ditch effort I loaded Ubuntu and played around with it until I got fed up with all the, over the top, security measurers. I mean, if I'm logged in as "administrator" just how often do I have to keep throwing my password around... Ok.. let's turn off some of these nag screens... Now, however, I can't log into or authenticate anything!!
Ok... Ubuntu is gone.. onto ChaletOS and I'm feeling better. As I don't use the laptop except when traveling I've no need for much more than Team Viewer, Chrome, Open Office, and Thunderbird all of which are installed and working as advertised. Even my bluetooth touch mouse is playing among the stars on my desktop.
C'ya,
Don
