Little things that make ChaletOS big
The fact that LibreOffice adopts to style changer color settings is a very nice, perhaps unnoticeable thing.
What's your subtle part of the OS you enjoy to see?

Re: Little things that make ChaletOS big
defifnitely although this is mentioned in their site, the part of being able to reset your settings to default if you screw up while you are changing them is a really great thing. I remember when I was a noob and I had KDE and I screwed up I didnt know how to restore and I was a total noob so I ended up re-installing Fedora (the OS KDE was on)! Chalet OS would have saved me a lot of time.

Good topic danielson...
Although i prefer and still use the 14.04 versions, i like the way i can make ChaletOS look a little more like Windows without the headache of trying to install new themes/ icons so i can get new users interested in Linux.
ps.. i still prefer the older version of style changer but that's just me.

Re: Little things that make ChaletOS big
Fast boot and no questions asked shutdown speed equal to a Mac, that is my kind of Linux distro.
SSD with Windows 10 (which can't beat Chalet on either, especially on shutdown when it seems to wait for the end of the world at times).
@Dits, thank you for your appreciation.

Re: Little things that make ChaletOS big
I hope not equal to mac.. unless they have drastically improved since 2013. My 2013 with yosemite would take ages both to shut down and reboot. even windows would be better than that. Chalet OS = better yet

@James, i don't know much about Macs, but last i saw one "live" was in 2002 and it booted on a click of a switch. Guess not all Macs are created equal.

Another little detail that is cool with ChaletOS:
Ability to have a different wallpaper from the laptop monitor on the external monitor (or vice versa of course).

Oh, did i mention how fast the "super key" works at finding apps?!
A friend of mine familiar with Linux distros came over yesterday and saw it "live" for himself and was impressed.

Re: Little things that make ChaletOS big
you mean at opening start menu? I'm definitely disappointed at DE's like KDE and XFCE (not chalet os modified xfce) as well as a few others where super doesn't open any menu. I definitely use it a lot. Considering that Chalet OS is a modified XFCE yet has super key optomization makes it very great

Yup. Sure helps users coming from Windows to find a familiar ground.
Another "little thing" about ChaletOS is the speedy forum and friendly atmosphere with the help of patient people like James Tobin.
A good forum is always a huge plus for me that can't really be separated from a piece of software.
